There are several group rooms available to us which gives us enormous flexibility & a country house feel to our being together. The meditation room is our main group room & has four floor to ceiling windows with wonderful views onto the surrounding countryside, and a deck. It has a clear & calm atmosphere which means that you can simply focus on your work on arrival. There are floor cushions and backjacks available or upright chairs if you need them. There is a library which is very atmospheric, with its log fires and comfy sofas and chairs. It is a smaller group space and we can also gather here before supper, for those who wish it. There is a comfortable sitting room to use with easy chairs and sofas. This is a space we can relax in after sessions are over, and we will also use it for some break out circle & pair work.
In the gardens you can relax and enjoy the ponds, the waterfalls, the beautiful Victorian half walled gardenand fabulous walks for conversation or moments of reflection.
Hawkwood has a commitment to locally sourced and organically grown food, including growing salads, herbs from their own garden. Food is delicious, varied and plentiful. Breakfast is self service with cereals, muesli, dried fruit, grapefruit, yoghurt, toast and spreads, orange juice, tea, herb teas and coffee. Lunch is homemade soup or a hot savoury dish with delicious salad combinations and dressings. Dinner is a substantial main course with dessert. Cakes are served in the afternoon tea break. Morning refreshments are also provided
You must tell Hawkwood your diet preference -meat and/or fish eater or vegetarian – when you call them to book, on 01453 759034 please. The centre can cater if necessary for special diets and will do their best to offer alternatives for those on restricted diets who attend the weekend. Please ensure you give them all the necessary information. Your health is always your own responsibility. Please ask kitchen staff once you are there if you have concerns. There may be an additional fee for provision of special diets. Special diets may incur an extra fee. You must on booking give clear details to Hawkwood of a) your allergy, b) the foods you cannot eat and 3. the reason for that. All responsibility for your health lies with you.
All the bedrooms are cosy & comfortable and many have original features, retaining much of their original character with lovely views onto the gardens and Painswick valley and the Severn Vale. They are carefully prepared and we enjoy making them welcoming for you. Towels for washing are provided.
You have the option to stay at home if you live nearby, if you wish it. Your day fee for all catering and use of facilities is paid directly to Hawkwood College. Please make an individual arrangement with Hawkwood when booking if you wish to pay for two breakfasts.
We feel that the way the house is set up helps create an informal family atmosphere of sharing and co-operation, perfect for Secret Garden community living. Assistants are available to clarify any questions.
Wishing you a safe and pleasant journey to the beautiful countryside of Gloucestershire and a peaceful, happy time til then.
Aloha,
Joy, Tim
